Sultan Baklava is a story of passion for craftsmanship, a celebration of tradition and a quest for perfection. For 24 years, we have refined the art of creating baklava, a delicacy dating back to ancient civilizations. Our journey has been marked by innovation, recognition and a relentless pursuit of exceeding expectations.
Our roots:
1997: The first Sultan Baklava branch opens in Damascus, Syria, on Baghdad Street.
1999: We introduce baklava sweetened with maltitol, a sugar alcohol with lower calorie content.
2001: Our international expansion takes off with exports to countries all over the world.
Milestones and innovations:
2002: Honey is introduced as a sweetener in our range, giving it a unique flavour profile.
2003: We expand in Syria with a new branch in Damascus, in the Mazraa district.
2004: We are awarded the prestigious "Der`a al-Ibaad" (Sign of Creation) by the Arab League, the first of many awards confirming our excellence.
2005: Our participation in international trade fairs and conferences takes off, giving us a global platform to present our products.
2009: We inaugurate our state-of-the-art Sultan Baklava bakery in Damascus.
A dream of a Guinness record:
2010: We set our sights on the Guinness Book of Records with an ambitious vision: to create the largest Arabic sweet decoration ever. This work of art depicted iconic Syrian landmarks, meticulously crafted from baklava. Our passion and skill resulted in a triumph - we captured the Guinness World Record title!
Global expansion and recognition:
2011: Sultan Baklava is established in the United Arab Emirates, marking the beginning of our international expansion.
2013: We are awarded "Der`a al-Ibaad" by the Arab League for the second time, a testament to our continuous pursuit of innovation and excellence.
2019: A new milestone: Sultan Baklava is launched in Turkey, expanding our reach into new markets and cultures.
2019-2022: We celebrate four consecutive years of winning the "Best Taste in the World" award, a recognition of our uncompromising focus on quality and unique flavor profiles.
